This page lists reputable and harmful providers so people can make more informed choices.
We classify a provider as harmful when it lies to its users or commits a crime or exploit to obtain model access. If a provider marked as harmful can be shown to have become reputable, we will update its status on this page.
A provider is only listed as harmful when solid evidence exists.
A note on terms: "CLI scraping" means abusing the free or bundled usage of coding CLIs, which usually breaks their terms of service. Discord resellers often sell CLI-scraped usage at a discount. Buying from them can put your own security at risk.
Harmful providers
1. Crow AI
Status: Non-reputable
Crow AI is a NewAPI service that gets its usage by scraping pools of free Grok accounts and Fireworks API free credits, by the owner's own admission.
The following is not yet backed by hard evidence, so treat it with caution: Crow AI most likely also buys from Discord resellers, who often scrape coding CLIs to abuse the free tiers of other services and resell that inference at a discount.
2. Aether AI
Status: Non-reputable
Aether AI is a Discord-run service offering cheap or free model access. The owner has publicly asked users to help scrape coding CLIs and abuse free tiers, and openly buys usage from Discord CLI resellers. Paying for it means paying for something the seller obtained for free by breaking another service's terms.
Reputable providers
We won't use this list to advertise our own provider. Our own service is marked as such.
1. OpenRouter
Status: Reputable
OpenRouter is widely known and is the gold standard for reputable inference. It routes requests through the labs' own APIs, with no questionable middlemen.
2. Composite (our own)
Status: Reputable
Composite uses OpenRouter as its upstream provider, so it inherits OpenRouter's legitimate sourcing.
3. RouteWay
Status: Reputable
Despite its controversies, RouteWay is a reasonably reputable provider, although it does not disclose which upstream providers it uses.
4. NanoGPT
Status: Reputable
NanoGPT is a reputable provider, although it does not disclose which upstream providers it uses. It was also one of the first providers to partner with Cake Wallet to accept Monero payments.
